UnivBattles · Legal
Terms of Use
Summary
- For IIT students, signed in with their own institute email. One account per person.
- Free to play. No payment is ever needed or accepted.
- Play fair: no bots, cheats, extra accounts or tampering with scores or the market.
- Meme Market is a game with virtual money. Nothing here is financial advice.
1. Agreement
These Terms are between you and the UnivBattles team (“we”, “us”) for UnivBattles (the “Service”). By signing in or playing you accept these Terms, the Privacy Policy and, for prizes, the Prize Rules. These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
2. Accounts
- Accounts are for current students, staff and alumni with an email address at an Indian Institute of Technology.
- Sign in only with an email address that belongs to you. Using someone else's address is not allowed and voids any prize.
- One account per person. Keep your device secure and sign out on shared computers.
- If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
3. Free service
The Service is free. We never take deposits, entry fees, bets or payments. Virtual cash, coins, scores, ranks and badges have no monetary value and cannot be bought, sold, transferred or redeemed. The only money involved is a prize we pay under the Prize Rules, which never comes from players.
4. Fair play
You agree not to:
- use bots, scripts, macros or tools that play for you or change scores, timers or random seeds;
- edit browser storage, network requests or game code to change results, or send scores you did not earn;
- use more than one account, or work with others, to gain an edge or move Meme Market prices;
- attack, overload, scan or reverse-engineer the server, or get around its limits;
- break any law, or harass, impersonate or harm anyone.
We may remove scores, close accounts or disqualify anyone who breaks these rules.
5. Ownership
The games, code, artwork and text belong to the UnivBattles team. You may play and share links, but not copy, resell or republish the Service. Department badges are original illustrations, not official marks. Anything you create while playing (your typed word, recordings, imported media) stays yours and stays on your device.
6. Ads
We may show ads in the future to pay for hosting and prizes, as described in the Privacy Policy. Never click ads or replay games just to generate ad views; that is ad fraud and leads to disqualification.
7. Meme Market
Meme Market is a simulation game. Coins are fictional and prices come from a synthetic model, in-game news and player activity. Nothing in it is investment, financial, tax or legal advice. We are not a broker, exchange or investment adviser.
8. No warranty
The Service is a student project, provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise it will always work, be error-free, or never lose data. Features and scores may change or reset.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, scores or virtual items. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to ₹1,000. This does not limit liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
10. Ending use
You can stop at any time and delete your account from the Privacy Policy page. We may suspend accounts that break these Terms.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Please email contact@univbattles.me first; we will try to resolve any dispute within 30 days. After that, Indian courts with jurisdiction over the matter may decide it, subject to any consumer forum you are entitled to use.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Prize Rules for a season already under way will not change in a way that harms players.
